Cécile Chaminade's Piano Trio No. 2 absolutely deserves to be heard in concert. Mozart wrote his Piano Trio in C Major, K. 548 during a turbulent, tragic and unbalanced time, but his miserable situation can hardly be heard in this music! Ten years after Schubert composed the first piano trio, it was performed thanks to Robert Schumann. “One look at Schubert's Trio,” he wrote in the music magazine he edited, “and all miserable human excitement disappears; the world shines in new splendor.”

The Chloé Piano Trio, winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society's Henderson Prize in 2021, was founded in 2017 by talented aspiring young musicians at the Royal College of Music in London. They perform regularly in the UK, France, Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands, as well as London venues such as the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall, Charlton House and the Royal Academy of Arts. Highlights included performing for King Charles during his visit as President of the Royal College of Music in March 2020 and the concert at Kasteel Eerden during the ‘Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds Weekend’ in 2021.
